Tambaba is a beach situated in the town of Conde, 17km away from the capital João Pessoa, ParaÃba State. It is known for its nudist section, the first beach in Brazil to allow naturism by municipal law. [1] The naturism is managed by SONATA, Tambaba Naturist Society. This society has organized a series of standards of ethical conduct as a means of ensuring a standard of behavior on the beach. These include prohibition of filming or photography, without authorization, the obligation of full nudity to access the site, the total prohibition of any behavior or sexual practices and prohibition of use. All these items are related to the Code of Ethics Naturist. International Congress of Naturism Tambaba naturist area was chosen to host the 31st International Congress of the INF-FNI Naturism (International Naturist Federation) that occurred in 2008. This conference is biennial and hosts it is somewhat comparable to host the Olympics in order to the same degree of importance on the world stage. The vote was held during the 30th International Congress of nature that occurred in the city of Cartagena in Spain from 7 to 10 September 2006. The vote was significant in favor of Tambaba who won by 137 votes to 99 given to the region of Calabria in Italy that was the competitor. With this, Tambaba joined the global nature of the story, since it is the first naturist area in the Southern Hemisphere and the first naturist area in Latin America to host an event of this size.
